Baby When The Lights Go Out | Little Touches

Baby When The Lights Go Out

Not long left to see the 2015 Blackpool illuminations, as it is L-E-D O-F-F time on November 8th. I attended the Switch On at the Tower Headland on September 4th and below is a selection of pictures from the event.

Music was provided by Professor Green, Lawson and The Vamps, but Toploader’s classic Dancing in the Moonlight was the musical hit that pushed the 14,000 strong crowd’s buttons the most.

Legendary Hollywood director Tim Burton flicked the big switch, aided by a crab claw that looked like it had come fresh from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

Coming to a silver screen near you in 2016 is Burton’s Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which has been partly filmed in Blackpool. It stars Samuel L. Jackson, who during filming stayed at The Grand at Lytham St Annes. Samuel turned into his own de facto tourist board whilst in the area, posing for selfies on his hotel balcony, at the top of the Tower, outside Uncle Tom’s Cabin and in front of the welcome to Fleetwood sign.
