Now in its nineth year, Showzam - Blackpool's Annual Festival of Circus and Performance - is stronger than ever, taking place from Saturday 13th to 20th February. Many of the circus sights are free, and those which are not are incredible value for money and can be found across a great spectrum of venues including Winter Gardens, Tower Circus, Tower Ballroom and out and about in the town centre in general, including the focal point of St John's Square.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio Lancashire's John "Gilly" Gillmore, Duncan Hodgson, Marketing & Audience Development Manager at LeftCoast, the arts body behind the festival said:
We've got some fantastic venues here in Blackpool and people really want to perform in those spaces.
The Tower Circus is pretty much unequalled across the country, it's just such an amazing space and people want to be part of that.
