The Easter holidays not only mark the start of two weeks off school for many children in England and Wales, but is the beginning of Blackpool's busy period - which extends all the way until the Illuminations go off in November. Alongside all the old favourites, there's plenty of new introductions to the scene this April.
Blackpool Zoo
The UK's largest elephant house and a brand new enclosure is due to open by Easter, housing a new herd of Asian elephants as well as our old favourite, Kate. Dubbed Project Elephant, the multi-million pound facility will open up an additional three acres to visitors.
This is an incredibly exciting moment in Blackpool Zoo's history. It is the latest, and the largest, in a series of significant investments at the zoo, which have attracted millions of visitors in the past decade
